Chin Mount For Troy Lee Designs SE4 & GP Helmets

One of the first helmets that we 3D printed a custom chin mount for was the Troy Lee Designs SE4. It made the first ten due to the shape of the chin area not being a good host for the plethora of “Bane” styled strap-on helmet mounts that claimed to be universal. 

Spoiler alert, the universal mounts were no match for the TLD SE4 (or most helmets for that matter). They would either crack when bent to fit the chinbar or the straps would loosen leaving the GoPro flopping around at best, on the trail to get run over by your buddy at worst.

That said, our mounts are sans straps, and as you can see in the video, they are not flat. We made sure that once secured via the included (and pre-fit) 3M tape that the mount was going to do its job until you decided it was time for a new lid.

You will also notice that our custom mounts don’t cover up the vents but rather look like an extension of the SE4’s sweet lines. 

Like the rest of the chin mounts in our store, the Troy Lee Designs SE4 version encourages the ultimate in moto-vloging thanks to the ability to allow for your camera to “tip back” to parallel your eyeport, and as such, your view of the trail.

Gone are the days of looking like a teletubby and/or getting home from the best ride of your life only to find that the camera was looking a few feet in front of your bike instead of getting the intended view of the ride.

Another sweet feature that sets our mounts leaps and bounds ahead of the rest is the reverse mounting screw that allows you to access the battery door on newer GoPros without the knob getting in the way. 

What’s that? You have a different favorite action camera such as the DJI Osmo or the Insta360? No problem, we tested the tip-backability for those, too, as well as the media mod that GoPro makes.

The mounts are also pretty much indestructible, so if you find yourself on the ground more than your buddies, you have one less thing to worry about.

In the box you get one custom mount, a mounting screw, an alcohol prep pad for cleaning, and some WannaBes stickers for extra horsepower.
