As you may already know, we figured out that there was a better way to film enduro riding and did something about it. We design and manufacture custom 3D printed helmet chin mounts for action cameras, and we have added the 509 Tactical 2.0 to our growing list of options.
The 509 Tactical 2.0 is the perfect lid for cold weather thanks to the removable “VEES” eyeport protection. 509 doesn’t really say what that stands for, so we are going to have to guess either “Vision Exceptionally Enhanced, Son” or, more logically, “Virtually Eliminates Excessive Shivering”. The lid also uses the venturi effect to pull moist air out of the helmet without requiring a bunch of intake air to blast through thus rendering the VEES pointless. That is some smart engineering, something that we over at WannaBes World Headquarters can get behind.
Like the mounts that have come before, the one for the 509 Tactical 2.0 was engineered to give riders the best mounting option for the best videos possible. This was done by allowing for what we refer to as tip-back angle, which puts the camera parallel to what you are looking at while in the attack position on your motorcycle.
You know, what your Instagram, YouTube, or, if you are one of those damn kids always on my lawn, TikTok followers want to see.
A proper tip-back angle gives the most realistic view of your ride as the camera is always pointed where you are looking. It’s not showing your bars bouncing all over the screen like a chest mount or pointed at the sky because your teletubby-style top mount clipped a branch 30 seconds after you left camp. Don’t get us started on that wonky side mount angle that always puts a crick in your viewers necks.
Our 3D printed mounts work with all popular action cameras including GoPro, Insta360, and the DJI Osmo. While your camera brand of choice can’t claim that they are indestructible or they will give you a new one, our mount has such an offer.
Seriously.
If you break one of our mounts we will send you a replacement once you get out of the hospital. We say that because if we can hit the same mount with a hammer, drop bricks on it, and then run it over with a truck, we don’t envy your position if you crashed hard enough to break one.

Camera Compatibility
Our action camera chin mounts are compatible with all GoPro models (Hero 11,10,9,8,7,6,5...) along with many other cameras such as models from Akaso, Garmin, DJI, or Sony. Our mounts are designed to accomodate GoPro's camera protective cases or their Media Mod and will give you excellent tilt-back angles even when you use a case or mod.
*some camera models may require an adaptor (sold on Amazon, Walmart, etc) to convert to the GoPro style mounting forks.
Crash Proof Chin Mounts
The WannaBes chin mounts are now made from a flexible material called TPU which is nearly indestructable. Not only is it practically impossible to break one of our mounts, the rubberized material also acts as a damper for any impact to your camera, helping keep your whole system safer in a crash!
Installation Instructions
1. Test mount position on helmet
2. Remove backing of 3M tape
3. Spread mount wings gently
4. Install on helmet ensuring full contact on whole tape surface.
